This aerial photograph was made on Kodak chromogenic slide film a half century ago by the photographer-pilot. It was kept well, but it has suffered normal fading for a slide of that type and age; the majority of the cyan dye has faded away.

Restoration primarily consisted of restoring the original color gamut and tonal range and eliminating a moderate number of scratches and embedded dust specks. There were also small local areas of greater or lesser amounts of cyan dye fading; these became lighter pink or darker blue areas in the restored image. They were removed by cloning the appropriate tone and color from nearby areas.

(Time to restore: approximately three hours.)
